REMINDERS:

·         Tryouts for incoming freshmen will be in the main gym at West High, Friday, June 17^th starting at 6 p.m.  All girls will be placed on a team.

·         Please remember to return the summer enrichment application and fee to Julia Nakamoto in the business office before June 23^rd.

·         Summer Welcome Meeting will be on Tuesday, June 28^th, 6-8:30 p.m. in Café 5.

SCHEDULES (Attached):

·         Redondo One Day Summer Shoot-Out – June 18^th (JV) – this was originally a three day tournament

·         Redondo Summer League – JV/FroshSoph, starting Monday, June 20^th.  Each team will play one game a week, either Monday or Wednesday. 

·         Redondo Summer League – V, starting Monday, June 20^th.  Varsity will play Mondays and Wednesdays

·         CSULB (to be added soon)

Team placement will be decided on Friday.  Please remember players can be moved between teams throughout the summer.  It will be a little hectic for the first few day, but everything will work itself out.  Playing time and team placement is decided by the coaches.  Please try your best to understand and do not ask the coaches about playing time and team placement. 

There will be another email with information on the practice uniforms, WHS basketball website and program fee*, and waivers for UCI (JV and varsity) and CSULB (varsity). 

*the summer enrichment fee goes to the school district and is separate from the WHS basketball program fee.  The basketball fee goes directly to the basketball program and helps fund summer tournaments and leagues.  I’m sorry this wasn’t mentioned earlier.  We normally have a representative at the 8^th grade athletic meeting to provide this type of information.
